Have you heard that there’s a new injection in town – and it’s being positioned as a direct rival to Botox?
Dysport is an FDA-approved injection that features the same benefits of Botox, in that it helps minimize the look of forehead wrinkles, lines, and even crow’s feet. Both products can deliver similar results and typically costs the same.
So when it comes down to it, what’s the difference between Dysport and Botox?
The Difference between Dysport and Botox
Both Dysport and Botox use the same type of neuroprotein to produce smoother and younger-looking skin, particularly on the forehead and around the eyes.
Here’s how they work: When Dysport or Botox are injected into the skin, the neuroprotein gets to work and starts interrupting the brain’s signals to the muscles beneath the targeted area. As soon as this happens, the treated muscles begin to relax because they’re not making all the micro-movements (like brow furrowing) that contribute to the appearance of wrinkles.
As a result, skin appears smoother and a lot younger, as the look of wrinkles and fine lines significantly improves.

What Lasts Longer: Dysport or Botox?
The truth is that the jury’s still out on whether Dysport or Botox lasts longer. Some studies have shown that Dysport lasts longer than Botox, while other studies didn’t find a conclusive difference.
For that reason, we tell our clients that there’s a negligible difference in the duration of results.
